Finally. Finally in Neustrelitz. The Chikinkis. Great synthie-hymns, with a powerful bang fired into your stomachs. Disco classics. It’s been quiet lately, though. After the beautiful album Brace, Brace in 2007 we didn’t hear much from the gentlemen, except a few live gigs. Coming at the end of this summer, there’ll be a new album. We are curious to hear it, as it has been recorded in Boris’ studio in everybody’s favourite city: Berlin. And those are promising words.
Everybody who has seen them live knows what energy they create: Boris on the keyboard with his hook-like movements, and Rupert with his shimmy. That alone could make the show. But they are joined by Ed, Steve and Trevor, who don’t lack flexibility either. According to the band, they want to tear down the Immergut stage, as they did with the stages in their hometown Bristol. There will be Rock’n'Roll for sure! And it will get under your skin – as they say – I’ll let you under my skin, just let me let you in. And yes, maybe the stage and its tent will be gone afterwards. We’ll stay curious.
